i have notice that my rocks are turing white looks like it is about the same in size and shape as my Coralline algae. Could the coralline be dying or is this something else? Any ideas?
That is what I would think as well. Occasionally when I do waterchanges the coralline on the back glass plate that gets exposed to air will turn white after a day or two. The second thing could be that something is eating it?
A few questions come to mind. Have you changed lighting? What are your water parameters--calcium, alkalinity, and magnesium? Are those spots in direct powerhead flow? Also, as James asked, do you have anything that would eat it, like sea urchins and the like?
no nothing that would eat it. At least I dont think anyways lol no telling in my tank tho lol and yes i have added new lights about a month ago about two weeks of full lights went from 36 watts to 195 pc
nope not yet its on its way out now i hope lol just been doing water changes about 25% at a time it looks alot better now tho cant wait for the coarls to start growing and get all the stuff for the 75 gal im going to start that diy sump soon so if im not on here for a day or so call for help i will be glued to the tank
I agree it is the light. Keep in mind that Corraline in general is not fond if bright lights. Yes it will grow in very bright light, but it must adapt and to your point and observations, will likely be a much lighter, blander color.
