) I added a small Favites after the tank switch, and have become very fond of it. At first I was concerned about the higher light/higher flow conditions but the way the flow is there are a number of places that get flow very condusive to them. I had been looking into Leptastrea for some time and finally got one, this guy is just sweet. Most info states they like shallow clear water, the way the coral looks kind of indicates fairly fast moving water is warranted and I was told they can handle quite a bit of light. I've got it on the sand now, as having it up a few inches was too much, and I'm debating about shading it. Either this one was in too low of light for awhile or they must be acclimated extremely slow. It looks real good though, is eating well and coloring up.
I'm beginning to think this is a coral like the encrusting porites I have. Shaded light and moderate flow and it's happy. Too much light and flow as recommended by most people and it looks terrible. Sometimes just by watching a coral you learn more than you're told.
If anyone has any info or experience with Leptastrea, I'm all ears.
