saltwaterfish.com - anyone thought about ordering anything?

Post by Fishfood »

I've been looking for scarlet hermits and no place has them, and when they do they are expensive. If anyone was planning on ordering anything from them I'd jump in on a 20 scarlets for 39.99. Thats $2 a hermit v's the $3 you pay otherwise. I don't need 20 but would take 10 for sure.

I might be up for ordering a fish. I don't need hermits though.

what fish were you looking at? You don't like hermits do you. You go with all snails. I like the scarlets but nothing else. I like that wrasse bass they have on there. How do basslets do with fairy wrasses? JK, I can't get anymore fish.

Nm377, welcome to the site. Are you a local?

I have heard that if you have any problems with SWF you are basically screwed. They have no customer service.
Wanted: to set up a tank again.

I have used them once. It was years ago and everything arrived just fine. I think they recently opened up an actual store that you can go to down there. I'm not to sure about that though. But I have also heard the problems with the customer service as well.

I was looking for a Golden Butterfly. They commonly have them.

Well if someone wants the other 5 hermits that would be $10 plus change for the addition box charge or whatever they offer. I just don't want to spend $30 or $40 on hermits and really only want 10 anyway.

I've heard a lot of good reviews from http://www.fishsupply.com they have groups of 5 for 11.99 not much cheaper then if a local store had them for 3/ea but might be a tad cheaper then saltwaterfish/liveaquaria....

i have seen @5 nice anemones from there, and a few fish.

With the sale price for the 20 of them they come to $2 per hermit, and there is no shipping on orders over $75 or $79, and with the fish that Phil wants we would have that covered. I'm in no rush but since i saw the 20 for $40 i thought maybe if someone was ordering something a few people who wanted some hermits could save a few bucks. At $2 you might be saving between $0.75 and $1.5 per hermit. On the lot you would be saving between $20-$30.

I agree, just figured I would put that out there since I have heard many good/decent reviews from different people.

I had a Golden Butterfly shipped to Aquaria today from SDC, so I don't need one anymore.

I am sure that I can find something to order when you guys decide to buy.

P.S. The Golden is gorgeous.

Phil,

Do you ever see any swallowtail angels on those lists that Dave gets? I'd like to add one to the tank after christmas sometime.

I'm assuming your fish are now healthy or you are putting the butterfly in a QT for some time.
