any one done a mame machine

im in the process of putting one together i have it loaded on my main comp at home but i might move it over to another older system and put a fewmore hd in it

if any one hase done a mame have you put it in an upright machine or built one

i remember going to mobile one time i think its off the tillmans exit there was a large warehouse that had tons of arcade machines i almost bought a 1943 cab spyhunter cab and hard driving sit down cab all working conditions and the price was not to bad i think maby 250 for each

i could have kicked myself in the arse a while back i came accross a ms pac man and a defender cab both had working games but the monitor was trash and the guy wanted 50 bucks for both of them but i really wanst in the mood to ventur with that project a while back but the bug has hit me again to build an arcade mame machine just like the reef bug once you get going you cant stop

if yall have any pointers or what not let me know!!!

thanks

Sounds like a cool idea, what is all involved.

for mame to run you need a fairly good computer from what i have read to play some of the higher end arcades but at lease a 400 mhz will be fine and the rest of the other goodies a normal comp uses you can use your comp monitor or get some different vga card that will display to 15 hz for a real arcade monitor -- me im gonna stick to the big 20 nec that i have i just got a new 19 inch lcd i need the realestate on my desk!!!

you can go one or 2 way for the controller build a desktop with joysticks and buttons and wheel balls!! or go for the full stand up acade console!!! im for the latter ive foud lots of plans for the up right for free and some if you want to buy and build or buy the precut stuff and assemble

you have a few otions for the controller use a keyboard emulater or hack a keyboard and figure the matrix or hack a gamepad

download roms and your ready to play
