WTB: 400w/250w MH parts

Post by ShagMan »

I'm gathering the parts to build a homemade front projector and I'm looking for the following:

400w magnetic ballast

250w HQI setup (ballast/holders only)

low color temp 250w HQI or 400w mogul bulb, something in the 5200-6500k range.

If anyone has any of the above, let me know.

I'd be using the panel from a Proview 15.5" widescreen monitor that Staples carries... 1280x800 native and easy to disassemble... goes for $230 plus tax.

Make sure you check fatwallet.com and techbargains.com for it, you might be able to get it cheap. Good luck I've looked into it myself mostly the info from lumenlab.com and diyaudio, etc.. thought it would be neat to do, but I couldn't get past the looks :) and that you can find projectors cheap on ebay now days.

Here's some pics... thanks to Max for getting a 400w MH street light assembly to me, it works perfect! I still need to true up with you. I don't have the right fresnel lenses, I'm still using parts from an overhead projector, but this should give you an idea of what it's gonna look like :)
