It just goes to show that metal halides are not necessary to keep SPS.

I love that tank, saw it last night. I've always been of the mind that you don't HAVE to have metal halides, but I was really surprised that he could do some of those colors without them. I also noticed he does weekly water changes and that was nice to see. :)
You'd be amazed at the attitude people give you when you say you're doing sps without MH lighting, seems like people all of a sudden start treating you like an idiot.
Maybe showing these tanks, people will start to understand there are so many factors involved in having healthy corals, not just the lighting thing. (even though that is usually one of the biggest issues) :)

I am living proof you can keep SPS with even low amounts of power compac.

I always thought if I ever have a second tank I would like to try T-5's, now I know I will. The start up cost is pretty high but the operating cost is lower that most other lighting.
