The tank of Death.
That is what I call my tank now. Over the past couple of months I've had a cleaner wrasse get killed, my yellow tang died, my fairy wrasse disappeared, and the kole tang I got last week died. I discovered that my main return pump was leaking electricity so I figured that had to be the cause of some of my fish dying. This past sunday I got a regal tang and a sailfin tang and now they are covered with ick. And to top it all off I found my blenny, that i liked so much, all chew up in the back of the tank tonight. Oh and I have a hair algae problem now. Two years and I never had a real problem with my tank until now. I've must have really pissed the Gods off about something. I've checked everything that I have a test for and everything seem fine. My corals are doing great atleast. They will probably be the next thing to end up in the trash can.

Shag I had the same problem with my tang about 1 1/2 years ago. I started feeding them and I added garlic to the food and they all heal up. It sounds like the same thing. I've never had Ich before, does anybody have any good ideas, removing the fish would almost be impossible. I'm adding garlic, ginger and seclone to there food, what else can I do?

I honestly don't think there's much to do... especially in a tank our size, with 8' of running room, there's no way to extract the sick fish, so all you can do is feed with garlic soaked nori, and hope for the best... it's very taxing on the nerves, let me tell you
I think we l;ost about $250 worth of good fish, and a couple of those were very dear to us.

I've got some stuff by Chem-Marin that's called parasite stop that is suppose to be reef safe. I have used it on my 30 gal tank. But I just hate to take a chance. I'm going to use it if they don't start getting better in a day or two.

I have tried several of the different ICK meds....Killed stuff but did not get rid of the ICK.....I ended up getting a UV light.....feeding garlic soaked food, cleaner shrimp,,and proper water conditions....the ick went away and has been gone for almost a yr....I even bought a fish with ick and he cleared up in about a wk....this method is cheaper in the long run and better for the fish....
Yeah i'm going to try that method first before I pollute my tank with meds. Actually they look a little better today. I'm going to get a uv sterilizer from brandon today. Maybe that will help. I think my fire fish has died too. I think that my large brittle star got the blenny and firefish or a crab or something did. The star fish is going into the sump tonight. Pretty soon i'll have a reef only tank.
