open wounds (not from fighting) on a tang???

Post by ShagMan »

My Naso had these weird looking patches when I got him..... well the patches opened up into raw wounds just a day or two after I put him in the tank... I'm thinking these were dead patches, that the cleaner shrimp ate off??? I dunno... has anyone seen anything like this?

For comparison, here's one side right after I put him in the tank... notice the discolorations, and how they equate to open wounds now.

Just a thought, but maybe you should put him in your refugium while he heals... this will minimize the stress from the other fish.

I would consider a iodine dip and garlic dip food on the way to the hospital sump.
