Is it normal to not have detected ammonia yet ive had the tank for two weeks...I've got a damsel and no ammonia. my Nitrate is reading 3.5ppm, Nitrites 40ppm pH has finally leveled off at 8.2

You probably missed the NH4 spike (if your nitrites are that high).
Wanted: to set up a tank again.
