That suprises me, they do things as cheaply as they can.

yea, i'm not sure i believe that. From what i gathered on RC that is still going on for certain locations and certain fish. Specifically the cardinals. That is the reason they look good one day and drop dead the next. I could be way off but in the last few days i've read that it still occurs.

well i don't really think its the water. I had a clown in there who is fine, bubble tip anemone, orange cap, green acro, hydnophora, zoos, branching bubble coral, ricordia, shrooms, some type of brain frag, pulsing xenia.... all have done better in this tank than my main acro tank. I saw a post on RC where numerous people have had similar problems with cardinals. All were doing fine and just basically dropped dead. One explination that was given was that it was due to the chemicals that they use to catch them.

I think Bangaii Cardinals are just too god damn fragile of a fish for the aquarium trade. I have never seens a bangaii cradinal that survive for longer than 6 months with my own eyes. But I hope I will be proven wrong by Phisher or Fishfood or snoopdog. I have bought approximately 10 for the hotel's 210 G tank a couple of years back (not all at once), and every single one of them perished within a month of addition. This is due to my sister's serious infatuation with them.

well i tell you what.. I'm going to try to order some captive breed bangaii cardinals. Guy sells them at $40 a mated pair due to the cost of keeping mated pairs in thier own tanks and $10 for a single 2-3 month juvenile. He has been breeding them for a few years now. If anyone wants some let me know. I know that once they make it past 3 months they will start to fight with eachother. He can not tell the sex of the fish before 3 months because they are difficult to tell but they start to pair up at that time. I'd be happy to split some shipping on these guys if he ships them to me. I'm still waiting to see if he will do it. He has never sent fish but has sent me coral on 3 different occasions.

Well I can actually say we had our bangaii's cardinals for close to two years in the 75 gallon and lost one prior to the move due to either the CBS or the Hawk fish. The other guy is living in our sump because the Perc's and the Hawkfish were trying to serve him as sushi... His fins have grown back and he looks fine. I am pretty sure the two we had were both males they terrorized each other in the 75, I hated the other one died- it was the prettier of the two.

I can honestly say we really didn't have any trouble with them up until like the week before we broke the 75 down, they must of heard us talking about having to get rid of some of our fish and they off'ed the weakest one survival of the fit-est....
