Awesome chalice... + Free 55G & Stand

Post by AuroraDrvr »

Looking for $125. I can split it in half for $60/half.

Also have a 55g and stand that I was using for a holding tank. Not very pretty, but works and holds water good. Tank is missing lower trim, but has been filled and on this stand for > 3 years. If you put it on another stand, I definitely recommend using foam underneath. Not drilled.

Stand is very basic, can not put a sump in it, and is 24"ish tall. Has a light holder that we tacked on, but easy enough to remove.

FREE to whoever wants it. I live just south of the Belforest Vol Fire Department in Daphne. Let me know when you want to get it, I'll tell you were to go and drag it to the curb so you can easily pick it up. Wouldn't mind a frag of SPS or Zoas or something, but don't really care as this REALLY needs to go.

Tank & Stand need to go by Sunday, otherwise it's going in the trash.

Also, I am probably going to frag myself a piece of this chalice. (Small 1" piece).. If I do, I'll take $80 for it. Otherwise, $100 gets it!

T5 (6x54w)... But chalices, like most LPS, really don't like much light anyhow. I've got them down on the sand in the shade.

Ballast? Uhh... It's a stock Current USA fixture, with stock internals. Nothing fancy. Unless you are keeping SPS, you don't really need 6 bulbs or super fancy ballasts.

Here are my bulbs (Bought from Reefgeek)

Korallen Zucht Super Blues x 2
Korallen Zucht Fiji Purple x 1
Korallen Zucht New Generations x 2 (14,000k)
ATI True Actinic 03 x 1

I am setting up a frag tank with a 4x24w t5ho fixture and will be running these bulbs:
KZ Super Blue x 2
ATI True Actinic x 1
GE 6500K

The GE 6500K bulb is horrible for color. Maybe the super blue and the actinic will hide the yellow but I had one with a fiji purple, 3 blue plus and 1 blue special and hated the color. I think I'm up to 4 blue plus 1 special and 1 fiji purple and don't like my color at the moment.

Was trying to figure out a way to get par up. But I might just not get the 6500k and go for a New Generation 14,000k and call it a day.

Here's my bulb order over the reef. Not sure what order I will run whenever I get the frag tank up.
Actinic, 14k, SB, FP, SB, 14k

I had it 14k, SB, FP, actinic, 14k, SB, but I really didn't like it. The actinic got washed being in the middle and didn't do anything. Now that I moved it to the front, the actinic affect is very pronounced. Most of my corals are on the front of my reefscape, versus the top.
