Seattle Aquarium

Post by Scootman »

I just returned from a trip to Seattle. While I was there, I decided to visit the Seattle Aquarium. There were a few interesting critters which you won't find on display down here, so I thought I'd post a couple pics. The only picture I couldn't get to take was of the pinecone fish. Awesome looking fish.

Below is the Giant Pacific Octopus. This one was a 45 pound female and her span was approx 8 feet. According to the guide, they can reach 20 foot spans and weigh 200 pounds.

Here is a wolf eel:

By the way, our seafood is much better :)

Giant Octopus are gorgeous animals. I hear the ones they house at the Monterey Bay aquarium are incredible, as well.

Ever seen one of those wolf eels chowing down on a whole sea urchin? Pretty crazy stuff.
