surge device questions....

Post by satchmofish »

i am planning on putting in a surge device. it will be the toilet flapper type and it will be plummed closed loop style. the only thing im curious about is if i will have to drill the overflow to the sump any bigger to compensate for the surge or if it wont even matter because of it being plummed closed loop style.
thanks

THat is going to cause a good deal of water level variation in your sump. Most tanks that have these devices use the main pump to supply one or more of the devices (possibly splitting off part of it) and just let the tank water level raise and drop about 1/2" or so. YOu would also want to make sure that the tank can handle the extra, almost instantaneous water volume.
