I have a toadstool that hasnt opened up in the last few days. When I came home Friday my BTA had gotten itself stuck and chewed up in one of my powerheads. Nothing else seems to have any ill effects. Linkia star, serpent stars, crabs, shrimp or other corals. I changed about 30 gallons of water that afternoon. Could the anemone be the cause even though nothing else was affected or something else?
Water parameters Saturday:
Ammonia-0
Nitrite-0
Nitrate-about 5-10
PH-8.2
Calcium-430
Alk- 9.0

I wouldn't be to worried about it. Toadstool (aka crown, umbrella) leathers tend to be finiky like that sometimes. They can retract for a few days to a couple weeks only to open right back up and go back to normal. Some times when it does this it will sloth off a layer of film so don't get worried if you see this happen. I would just suggest to let it be and keep an eye on it just to make sure there is nothing bothering it or no part of it is rotting.
When i first got my crown leather it closed up and slumped over for a couple weeks then perked right up and started getting bigger.

Anytime a softy is stressed they do this. Rarely can you even move one from tank to tank without witnessing this.
