Post by Wantadragonet »

Does anyone know a good place to get live brine shrimp, Ive read they are a great food for Green Mandarin Dragonets if you dont have a long established tank.

Welcome to the site. As far as dragonets go, you may want to look into a more nutritious live food, such as many of the aquacultured copepods. While brine shrimp may suffice as a supplement in fairly established tanks, it will not provide the nutrition necessary for a mandarin. You could also use these "pod" cultures to innoculate your system. I actually have a good bloom of them every week or two. It is really important to let you tank get established for these fish, though. They also eat many other things in addition to the 'pods, such as foraminiferans (like a shelled amoebae)and they need these to do well, also.
