Here is some pictures of my new setup. I put all this together Saturday. The sump is a 30 gal tank that was my main tank. I'll post some more pictures when the water clears. These were taken Saturday night, this morning ( Sunday) It's clear but my camera is dead.

Hi, nice setup.

One thing that jumped up at me (having learned a very hard way) is sand jamming your impeller.

I am wondering what measures you have (besides not stirring up the sand occasionally, which is nigh impossible for me) to prevent small micron sand from entering the pump while not filtering out the beneficial free swimmers.

I have my pumps sitting on a platform with sides around it that is raiseds up above the sand bed so it would not suck up the sand bed. I just thought it might work better that way. So far so good.
