Ultraviolet

Post by lwready »

Does anyone use an ultraviolet sterilizer as part of their filter system? I see them advertised but don't know if they are worthwhile or usable with a reef system.

Any information will be appreciated.

Thanks
Larry

I use one.. Helps keep the water looking clear, by controlling algae in the water stream, and helps control ick on fish. If your tank has been setup for a while and you hold a piece of white paper on one end and look down the length of your tank, does it appear green?.. some of that will be the glass, but a uv filter will definetly improve water clarity.
