Oddest looking frag

Post by sb1227 »

I think this one gets it for oddest acro.... reddish with a brilliant blue growth tip. I've had it for some time, obviously a slow grower but growing nonetheless. I'm interested to see how it looks after a couple of years.

It's got to be a deepwater Acro. When it grows up post another pic.

It is, doesn't like too much light or flow. Yeah, I'll post a pic in ten years or so...

Is it flat on one side (it kind of looks like it). Where did you get it from? Did you ever see the mother colony?

I actually looked at the other side last night and it's beginning to put a few tiny corralites out, this one has really been interesting. I think I got it from John (Tubs), they know I'm always looking for different deepwater acros. I may have to see if he has a pic of the colony. I'm kind of interested to see it too.

It's not on his page. It must be new or something. Have your ordered from them a lot. He still has the PM for less than $100 and some really nice chalice's for decent prices.

I got it some time ago, they just out stuff up as it come's in. He does alot of chalices. I don't know what all they lost this summer, he said his tank was coming back slowly. They tend to have real good size frags for good prices consistantly. They haven't added anything for sale in awhile, understandably....I hope he decides to start back up soon. I think Rommel has a bunch of chalices on his page http://www.ultimatefrags.com/coral.php?cat=LPS

his stuff is a little more expensive usually.

You know, I think Im gonna have to agree that it's an elegans....saw a pic of one that sea-biscuits has and it sure looks like this one. I'm almost tempted to move it down a bit, but since it seems pretty happy where it is I think I'll just keep an eye on it. The simplex and the Turaki pics I've seen just don't come as close as this one.
