Sponges

Post by Taddster »

I have been thinking about breaking down my tank as some of you know....however, since everything is still somehow thriving wonderfully (and some of you know about my famous water changes) Im going to keep it going for a little while longer. In the meantime, I have sponges growing everywhere....and I mean there are many/several. I dont know how they got there. Should I scrub them off?

I would leave them alone. Steve Tyree uses them in his cryptic zone filtration system. If you just want to get rid of them I would take them but I don't know how well they would survive being cut off rocks. They will die off if they are subjected to air.
Wanted: to set up a tank again.
