Mini-Jet

Post by snoopdog »

I bought 4 mini jet powerheads, the ones with the cord in the front instead of the back - tards.

Anyway has anyone found a good way to secure them ? The damn things come undone quick. It sucked up my cabbage coral today after it fell down.

Where did you find the Mini-Jets?...I would like to check them out as I have been looking for some more powerheads.

I remember Terry saying you could use a drop of super glue on each cup to get them to stick. I have also heard a tiny dab of silicone works.

Why don't you use the stuff you made your reef plugs out of and make a fake rock with the mini jet inside?

Marinedepot.com has the best prices on powerheads and good shipping rates too.

Snoop the suction cup with a drop of super glue works well for me.

Well I could just do that Scott, you know place it at or around a rock, or encrust it over with something. I had glued them with silicone to the two new tanks and hell they held rock solid, but that was a dry tank. with a tank with water it is not that easy. I might have an idea though.

Harbor Freight

I used the tiny ones from Harbor Freight for my pico and they go on sale for 1/2 price quite often. I have had mine for three years and still going strong. Not sure what you were using them for, but here is a link if interested: http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/D ... mber=45303 or this one for more gph http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/D ... mber=45305

So they go for $5 at times ? That is not a bad deal then.

Well nothing worked so I got created with silicone. First is of the 29 gallon. Second picture is of the cube nano. I can tell you they are there for good. I never have to clean the powerheads so....this is permanant. If they just have to have something I will rip them off and replace them.
