AHHHHRGGGGGGG A/C is dead
Our A/C died a couple of days ago and our house isnt insulated well at ALL. and if that isnt bad enough, its FREAKIN HOT outside!!! I went to my grandpa's and borrowed a window a/c unit from him and installed it in our bedroom. At least we can sleep at night. But this morning i took a look at my corals, they are ALL dying!!!! the room temperature had ridden so high...in the mid 90's..the tanks temp was close to it. I moved all of my dying corals into my new 29g thats in my bedroom. Good thing I had it. I hope that going from ~90 degree water to mid 70s didnt do any more damage. Now I just have to worry about the fish in the living room tank. They seem to be ok, but I dont want to risk moving my tiny Perc Clown into a tank with a HUGE maroon!! The other fish I cant catch without taking out all of the LR. I did stick a fan blowing on the surface and poured a bunch of ice into the tank. GRRRRRR I HATE Florida in the summer...i really need to head north!!!!.

Start freezing 2 liter bottles will regular water and float the bottle in the sump. This should bring the temp down slowly and not too fast.

Just keep two or three and as one thaws let the others freeze. This is kind of an old school reef trick used before there were chillers.

i will only be in this house for a couple more weeks. I think that my frog spawn and hammer have come to their end. They are still looking VERY Bad.
I had green w/ white tip and pink w/ white tip frogspawn and cream w/green tip and pink w/ white tip hammer. Now I have to find more. I think my GSPs have also died. My devils finger is looking bad and my Monti caps are both almost completely bleached out. GRRR I HATE the summer!!!

Well it is not the end of the world. Keep doing the coke bottle trick until summer is over. You cannot exactly freeze the tank since the heater will kick on. Just change them out before you go to work in the morning.
