Last sat morning a couple of snails got in my down pipe and pluged it up and I got home to water overflowing on my carpet....cut out some pipe and retrieved said snails....cleaned up the mess...repaired pipes......yesterday I decided to do a water change and clean tank..ect...I had just filled my garbage can with RO when the can gave way....tide was high in the kitchen ..office...livingroom....just not my week...time to clean carpet anyway...called the flood control and had all the carpet cleaned...It should dry sometime today..... Isn't this hobby great
Time to redesign those standpipes. I put screen on top of mine to keep that from happening.
Last time I have an overflow box on any tank though.

i was in the same boat a few years ago when i didnt have a float valve and left the ro unit on for about 20 hours and i filled my apartment with about 200 gallons of water lucky for me i had a 2 story apartment and it was on the ground floor it was about 10:00 pm when i had to call the carpet doctor because my 20 gallon shopvac just wouldnt cut it
yeah, had nearly 50 large ceriths plug mine, except it was the actual bulkhead. Tank flooded before I could find out, took days to get all the snails out of the plumbing. All I can say is that I know how you feel.
Ok here is my secret for anything cloging the pipes: When I do my water changes I also use this long dryer vent brush to push any traped items on down, even the hair algea is cleaned. Don't know if you can do that with your system, but works for me.
I had to do a search, so ignore the word tank in orange
