Ours is not as high, because our house is smaller I think. We also use gas AC and hotwater heater too.

The June-June comparo there shows we're using slightly less power... I think that's a direct result of not having the MH's or the skimmer running... that should be around 1000w savings all total.

Brandon, when did you guys move into your 'new' house? I remember some A/C problems, probably resulting in a low bill for that month.

We just got a $393 power bill for June. I'm looking forward to July and August also. :( I guess we'll have to sweat a little more. The KWH adjustment cost was $43 which we didn't have last year. We're still paying for Ivan.

The power companies pass extra expences or savings along to the customer. This is how they do it. You'd probably have to go back before Ivan to see any credits.

Yeah sounds like our power bills, a 1.5ton and 4.5ton unit.

My power bill jumped up over $100.00 once I converted to halides. As mentioned above, a lot of that is contributed to the AC. I have a bran new AC that I keep on 68 degrees. You can almost breath frost in the morning but once the tank lights come on, the whole house will heat up to almost 80 degrees. I do not like the high power bill, but I like even less the fact that my AC is wide open and I am sweating. I have resorted in having my tank lights on in the hours I am at work so sometimes I may go 2 weeks without seeing my tank lit.

yeah, we had the same problem, our A/C isn't that good even w/out the halides... we had to run the halides late at night, so we could see it for a few hours before bed with the lights on... now we can run a daytime schedule with the VHO's.
