Any idea on how much one of those cost?

it's not very exciting... looked like a barrel-roll attempt, and it didn't level out before it got to the ground... no fuel explosion persay, but there was a ton of black smoke from a small fire at least.

TYpical Twin Engine F-14:

9 or 10 channel digital radio $1,500.00
Digital receiver $500.00
10 servos $1,500.00
Airframe $4,000.00
Misc. assemblies, wiring, retracts $1,500.00
Two approx. 20 pound thrust turbines $9,000.00

Total $18,000.00 for the good stuff. You can do it cheaper used.

Plus, you have to acquire and learn to fly advanced, high perfomance non-tubine aircraft to practice and demonstrate your competence to obtain your turbine rating.

I have flown a little bit of everything. I currently fly mainly helicopters.

Looked to me like some type of flight gear failure. I don't think he tried a roll.

I have a couple of radio control crash and burn tapes/cds if someone wants to borrow them sometime. Whenever I lose one, I like to watch these so I know someone else lost something much more expensive.
