anyone know how to hang a front door

I have to replace my front door and was wondering if anyone was good at that sorta thing..... maybe could lend a hand of if you know a reasonble prices handy man type..... I would hate to bend over for Lowe's :shock:

My door locks broke and are from the 50's ....and cannot be replaced so I need a whole new door. I don't know if I trust myself to mortise the hinges and get the new holes and old ones lined up..... But definately don't want to have to hand plastic across my door until I figure it all out. :P

I had Amy's brother do our in the old house. After watching him hang the doors I would still not attempt it. One thing to watch though, if the frames are replaced the trim around the door often breaks and matching the trim color is almost impossible if it is stained.

You buying the whole door kit, frame and all? It's not that big of a deal if everything is still in good shape around it.. Just put it in get everything level w/ shims and screw it in. If you're reusing your old door frame its a bit more work.

Wait, you said mortise the hinges.. So I guess you don't have a standard door frame for the front.. sorry ignore what I said, I live in a wooden house :)
