Sick ??
Anyone else had a cough and sinus problem for longer than normal ?? My son got me sick 5 weeks ago and he shook it after a few weeks but I have had it the entire time. Amy just got it a week ago and still fighting it.
I have to sleep upright many nights or choke because I cannot breathe. The doctor said since I do not have a fever it is nothing to prescribe antibiotics for and instead put me on a sinus medicine that makes me very sleepy. In fact I just started a new job that requires alot of reading/training and between the reading and the medicine I find myself having problems keeping my eyes open.
I just find it unusual to have something this long, the cough is horrible at night and quite irritating for me and anyone else that has to listen to me.

I am just keeping an eye on this, it is not the flu obviously and I normally do not have anything over a week.

Sounds like that stuff that ran around last year. Seems like some people (and usually the one's that never get sick, like me) end up having all kinds of problems, and some get right over it. I ended up with pneumonia with it that lasted three months, didn't think it would ever go away. Hope it isn't the same thing, but if you start having any fever you better go back to the doctor. Have you asked him for something else, that won't make you so sleepy? I hate taking stuff like that.

Sounds to me like bronchitis. I've had it twice before and it lasted a long time. I was going to try to beat it myselft but it just got worse over time. I think the medicine they gave me was slowbid. I'm sure its not spelled that way but thats how it sounds. You want have no problem staying awake when you take that stuff. Goodluck

Our Son has had it for 6 weeks now, I had it 2x, but my second round of it, the doc gave me antibiotic, but also a shot of something. And let me tell you it was gone in 1 week, but you do still feel drained for awhile after.

I was sick last month with a cough, extreme sinus problems, a mildly sore throat and finally went in to see my family doc and found out I had strep and what I suspect was the flu. Knocked me off my butt for about a week week and a half, couldn't taste food for two weeks.....

Doubling my medicine per my own orders appears to be working great now.
