BAD LUCK

Post by wtrhed »

I must have really pissed the reef gods off somehow. Well long story short, We went home for ONLY 2 days, when we left it was hot and sunny. Later that SAME day, it gets down past 50!!!!!!!! What the hell????? I was really stressing, but knew the heater would work. Came home yesterday to find that the fishroom breaker had been thrown, the tank had lost it's headwater, and the tank temp was dead on 60 degrees. WTF!!!!!!!!!!! Well after totally freaking out, I started looking, everything was still alive!!! That is the stuff that was still submerged. The onlytwo thing I lost was, brace yourself, the Acan, and a purple/orange M.digitata. The two very best pieces I had found! I think a good bit of the Acan "might" come back and I was able to save some good pieces of the digitata. I can't believe that everything else made it in that cold of water. 5 fish, a large clam, nice sized Milli, and a bunch of polyps all made it through with no problems, how is that?? Well, it was bad but it could've been worse. We'll see what pulls through with the good pieces. And to top it all off, the day we get back, the weather is fine! There WILL be a babysitter next time we leave!!!!!!!

i am sorry to here about the things that you lost, but it was great that you did not loose more then you did. You have really not had that much luck lately.

We had some really hard winds and rain here too. Lost power off and on all night. Luckly we were here to tend it. Sorry to hear you were not as fortunate

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the Acan bit the dust. Easy come easy go. Some of it might come back but it is iffy at best. It's weird that it was the only thing that didn't make it. I am totally surprised to see that everything else is acting like nothing happened?? I just need to hurry up and get the new setup going and quit fooling around with the old one so much. STILL waiting on my custom canopy!!! I have "almost" all the equipment I wanted sitting in the den collecting dust all because of a BIG screw up with the canopy manufacturer. I am positive this would not have happened if it had already been setup.
