250w MH setups

Post by andy4499 »

If anyone comes across any deals on two 250w MH setups let me know, I am trying to find a deal on them right now for my new tank. I had two deals fall through on me already so I am still in the marked for them.

I might be selling my MH setups... if I do, they'll be around $80 or so for each 250w setup, that's ballast/reflector/socket/bulb and all the wiring you'd need... the bulbs are 10k Ushios with about a year of use on them... low usage, I only run my MH's for about 6-7 hours a day, and they're still white output. I need to run my system for another couple weeks (MH's aren't running) to make sure it'd be ok w/out them.

OK, I've made up my mind, I'm definitely selling the MH's. Two go to Andy, and two go to Karen. They'll be ready in two weeks, as soon as I get the two extra VHO's in; I'm installing two extra 6' VHO's to partially make up for the MH's that are going to be removed. Does that sound OK for you two? Each of you'd owe me $160, and would get two 250w setups each.

hmm :?

pics of all the parts are in the 240G thread in AL reefkeepers forum... magnetic ballasts, spider reflectors, and everything is one year old.

I guess two are still up for grabs at this point.

pics, for whoever's interested... these were when new, about a year ago. The ballasts are a bit rusty now, and there's some salt stains on the reflectors, but everything works :)

Billy is in GO right now, he will call you when he gets back in fri. I thnk what he is thinking is, we have some reflectors and sockets. We only need the ballast and lights. With yours being a year old, they will need replace shortly, add 65 per bulb to 160 we might be able to get new everything. He will talk more in depth with you later. Do you think you would part it out, like sell only the ballasts?

No desire in parting out, sorry. If you already have reflectors/sockets, then this probably wouldn't much of a deal for you, I agree :)

The ballasts will end up running you about $55 each shipped, spider reflectors / sockets are $40 or so shipped, and Ushios are $70 or so shipped from a vendor on eBay. So you can do an all new setup for $165 (two would run you $330), to give you an idea. Obviously new is better, with fresh bulbs, but these have a good bit left in them since they weren't ran for long... so basicly I'm selling 1/2 new price. I'm just trying to get enough $$ outta these so that I can refresh my VHO tubes with new ones, and add two... I figure that's gonna cost me about $350.

Where's GO btw, where'd they ship Billy off to?

Anyone else needing metal halide setups?

Josh I don't think that I am going to get the MH right now. It is just going to be a little to much money for me to spend right now. Thanks for the offer though.
