Anemone delema
I recieved 2 clown fish from Kartracer recently. My delema is that I went out and got them a bubble anemone, and it was beautiful. You know the rest of the story, up the jet. I have had this proble several times in different tanks and different species. My question is, which Anemone would do better and less apt to travel to the nearest suction device?

Have you seen the plastic ones?
Seriously, I took out all my power heads that DO NOT have gaurds for the same sad reason. There is no gaurentee. I have 5 different species of anemones in my reef tank. They all like to travel and they are like a bug to a light when it comes to power heads!

Thanks for the advice. I have placed them in the 100 gal with only returns now.KrazyPlace wrote:Have you seen the plastic ones?

You don't perhaps still have the one you were looking for a home for do you?

Yes I do. I think you saw it when you and Billy were over? I've stopped feeding him directly and he only receives the same feeding the fish do. The rate of growth has finally slowed. He is still very healthy!

That sounds more safe than what I picked up tonight at Progressive, a sponge filter. I will have to check out these jets you mentioned.
But sure do like that plants and such are not getting sucked in like before

She is beautiful, but she is big, and that is our problem. I went crazy with ordering her and the naso at the same time. Not thinking of the bio load on the system. She also has a compatability problem with the the tank mates, so she tends to get ick alot. I'm getting stressed with getting her well, putting her back with the others, then in no time she has it again. I don't want to keep any fish that has a problem with it's mates, it's not fair to them. Anyways, if you know anyone who is looking for a large one, let them know for me.
Did your wife ever get her skull for the tank?

You can also try putting a prefilter sponge on the instake of the powerhead. (You need to rinse it often)

I personally have a couple pieces if LR that surround the intake of my big pump. At least it make it more difficult for them to get sucked up there.
