Whale shark

Post by Snakeman »

I went by the dive shop today and they had some video of a whale shark that some divers took out in the gulf a week after Ivan around and oil rig. Also they saw a parrot fish a few miles out this past weekend. I need to be spending more time in the water to see what else Ivan blew in. If a Whale shark can get blown in there is no telling what else is out there.

My brother saw a whale shark out there last summer, he was in a thirty foot fishing boat turned around and saw it at the end of the boat... said he nearly messed his pants.

That would be so cool to see one. In that video the divers where able to touch it. I'll try to get the video so I can post it.

The diver's wife is a VP where I work... she is supposed to be getting a DVD of it, I'll see if I can borrow/copy it. She said they got 40 minutes of video... it was a return trip to the same rig twice, they saw it the first time out, and were able to to swim with it the second time. This diver is a SERIOUS spear-fisher too, his wife has lots of stories, and she says the first bill to get paid every month is the large life insurance policy on him :)

OK, I talked to Teresa, here's the information:
Here is the clip. We expect to have the full 40 minutes on DVD soon. The "videographer" is Nathan Friedlander - my husband (Bob Morgan) is the diver in the film.
I have a one-minute clip, it's ~1MB, WMV, does anyone have hosting space for it?
