well im fixing to move my tank all the plumbing i just did im gonna have to cut all up again and redo it so there gose another 50-75 buck out the door!!!!
i have to cut it all up cause it will not fit through the door with it all connected i hate that!!!!
one good thing is that it will all be much quieter than before due to a storage closet on the back side of the tank
the bad thig is ( i think its cool) i have to cut a few holes in the walls for the pipes to go through for drains and returns and electrical --- bad thing with it is the girlfriend dosent like it to much with a few 3" holes in the wall
the other bad thing is the extra storage cabinate i built will not fit with the tank and canopy but ill be able to use it in the storage closit
im just glad to be in my new house and out of the apartment
so im guessing it will be 3-4 hours to drian water scoop up about 200# of sand and mobe about 50-60#'s of rock then dis mantle the stand and canopy and storage cab then move it all to the new place and reassemble it all back and rebuild a few things
man im looking forward to this weekend!!!! lol

We recently moved into a new home too. We have a 125 gallon long tank with who knows how many lbs of sand and live rock, not to mention all the livestock in it.
We took a few of those big rubbermaid storage boxes and some styrofoam coolers and put the rocks, fish, corals, etc in them, And filled them with water, then took a couple of the big trash cans (35 gal I think) and scooped the sand into it along with as much water as we could safely move. Then moved that all to the new house WITH the tank, stand, canopy, etc etc and put it all back together in a day. The rock is still kinda disorganized, but we had no problems scooping the sand back into the tank, all the fish made it, same with the invertebrates, our softies are flourishing but some of our SPS croaked.
We used rubbermaid bowls/containers to scoop the sand - hint, don't drain your water then try to get the sand out.
scoop the sand and water together. Works waaaaaay better that way.
Just my two cents.
