Fresh from the sea.

Post by Snakeman »

I went diving today and the water was great. Vis was around 25 feet at Al. Point. I chased a school of Doctor fish for 2 hours today with no luck. I think they have caught on to my fish catching technique. I did get a butterfly fish on my way out of the water. I've got him in my frag tank because they love to eat Sps but my Blue damsel doesn't like his new tank mate at all. I might have to set him up his own tank or get rid of the damsel.

Very nice fish!

Off topic from this post --> I'm thinking about going to Fort Pickens to do some snorkling this weekend. Do you have any suggestions for getting snails there?

I've got the "big" ugly ones that I got from Little Lagoon. I'm looking for something a little different. Karen & Billy, what have you found out there?

Don't get me wrong... I like my "big" ugly snails a lot... I just want some variety.

I believe they call them narsaurus. We put 6 in our main tankfew weeks ago, and they are doing great, with no problems.

Need to make sure some of these large snails will knock stuff over as they move around even if they are reef safe. As for reef safe I am not sure if they are or not.

I think they were Nassarius snails but I never got a good look at them. They were small just not as small as the Nassarius snails that are sold commecially.
Wanted: to set up a tank again.

My weekend has been cut short by 1 day so now I probably won't make it to Fort Pickens this weekend. I might can make it to the Little Lagoon Pass though. Where at did you collect these snails? On the rocks in the pass by the bridge?
