Fragging Frogspawn

Post by Jahdiel »

Fragging 101 question. When fragging frogspawn, which do you suggest, breaking the hard section of the frag or cutting the soft tissue at the stalk?
We want the piece to continue to propagate for future frags, everybody loves frags.

Thanks,
Billy

If it is the branching type I would break the branch off. I don't think you can frag frogspawn like you can mushrooms by cutting the soft tissue.

Snakeman is right. Cut the stony stalk with a clean pair of pruning shears. I use a nice ratchet type. Remember to go with the grain because if you go against it, the stalk will shatter.

Just grab it with your hands and make a wish, works for me.

I broke out 2 pair of needle nose pliers, and 4 branches became 2 per. But thanks for all the information. We were kinda rushed, so had to do what I could.
