Temp fluxuation

Post by LoneStar »

How much of a temperature change can sps' handle? Lately I been running 80 degrees in the morning and 83 degrees in the evening. Everything seems fine but just looking for some words of wisdom from the GURUs.

Thanks,
Jeremy

Most of the guru's say less than one degree some say less than two. I know of one person that has his tank fluctuate from 75-80 and he had no problems and had good growth.
Wanted: to set up a tank again.

Mine goes from about 75f in the morning to up to 82f in the afternoon. I know I need to keep it more stable, but I am SCARED of heaters. I have several sps colonies and a tank that is WAY overloaded with corals and have not had any problems.

The more stable the better but even with a chiller mine moves from 80 to 83 when the big lights kick on....
