26 Gallon Progress

Post by snoopdog »

A small update on the 26 gallon. I have removed the killer percs and added a Gold Stripe Maroon Clown and maxed the tank on corals now. They just need to grow and fill in the gaps. I am happy with the tank now and doubt i put much effort into it. I will be concentrating on finishing Amy's 29 gallon and the 20 gallon.

Here is a shot from December 2003 when we moved into the new house.

And a two shots taken this week. The last was taken close to time for the lights to go out so alot of the corals were closing down.

You should see the corals on a happy day. They want there carbon at the moment.

I love small tanks, kevin. I've got a 29 myself and it's just so easy to do water changes on. I bet u enjoy the ease of a smaller tank. Same thrill, less hastle...that's the way I look at it.

Yeah only downside is that there are three small tanks. But still more manageable really. I normally do not run a skimmer full time and the filter socks probably will not be run all the time. I am a believer in carbon though.

Mr Spooky!! He's been with you guys for a while hasn't he.
It's looking good.. I still see a spot of sand way back in there, you've got room for something else! :) Looks a lot different since I saw it last.

The color is off alot but the lights are from Ahsupply, most of my lights are. The new house has got twice as many windows as my old house so we get a ton of natural light pouring in. I like this alot compared to our old house that was alot like a dungeon and i was the troll. The 26 gallon get hours of natural sunlight from both sides of the house and the picture can have a yellow appearance even when the white balance is adjusted on the camera. I hope to have the other tanks compleated in two weeks and have them age in like a reef tank should.

Not the clearest picture in the world but this is a distant shot.

Notice the buttons are growing up the side of the cabbage.

Do you see the RIO powerhead buried in the buttons ?

Here you can see how covered the Rio is in polyps better here

I will try to get more tomorrow, the camera battery died.
