Is this "normal"? I haven't fed him for several weeks, is he just looking for food?? His tentacles usually just barely show above the rocks, but now he's reaching up, up and away!
P.S. He doesn't look that large, but sandbed-to-top is about 20" or little more, he's pretty laaarge, and notice how close he's reaching up to the top of the water column!

That does not look like a condalactis(sp) anemone at all. It looks more like a LTA, but that is just from viewing the pics.
It is normal for anemones to reach like that. They are reaching for flow and light. My anemones' foot is approximately 6-8 inches way behind a large slab of rock. When the lights are on, they will reach toward an area of good flow and lighting. When the lights turn off, then retract back into its' "safehaven."
