Mike and Brandon saw them and We don 't think that It's Ick. They are a little bit too big to be ick. Looks more like a very small worm could be a leech. They are only, that I can see, around the head area. They are easer to see after I feed my fish.

I have heard of fresh water dips but not sure if that would be more stress than worth....never tried it. I have heard of making a dip of tank water with iodine and using it as a dip...that way temp ....sal...alk...cal...everything else is the same but the iodine is an antibotic.

I'm with you one this. I think dumping a fish Into fresh water would be pretty stressful. I wouldn't even dump a fish in my tank without aclimating him. How much iodine do you use per gal. Will it kill parasites?

Not sure...I just heard rich talking about a iodine dip...on a starfish one time.......I figure it would work on a fish also...I would not go too radical...maybe a capful per cup for couple of min...just a guess....sometimes this stuff is trial an error ck on rc...but first thing they will ask is if you have him quarteened...

I use the fw dip religously if I have problems. I use ro water, acclimate for temp and then mix about 1 part tank water to 9 parts fresh to help ph. Parasites swell up and drop right off. Works on almost every external parasite-ich, black ich, ood.

Fish are pretty tough. My friends in the aquaculture business do them regularly for parasites. They also run small amounts of iodine in there systems at all times and still get parasites occasionally.

try Quick Cure from aquarium life, it had copper and formalin. take out a couple gallons of water from your tank and put an air stone in then the medication, then the fish, let him sit for a couple hrs, then aclimate him back to the tank, the copper and formalin will burn off the parasite, we use embalming fluid to cure our fish at work.
