Mixing clown fish?
I have 2 false percs in my 65g reef tank. They host in a mass of hairy shrooms. I have a monstrous LTA that they have nothing to do with. What would you guys think of me adding another pair of clown fish of a different species?
I read this: http://www.wetwebmedia.com/clownfis.htm and think it will work since I have 'adequate' hosting 'critters' for them all.
Who's tried it? Which ones work? How big of a tank?

Never attempted multiple clowns, they would fight alot unless you have an enormous tank for the to be able to hide in.

It's probably best that you chose not to but I have had up to 4 different species of clowns at one time in a 55 gallon. I did have problems with the pink skunk clowns and maroon clowns. The true percs and the false percs (two of each) never even seemed to mind each other and neither pair would host with anything until one pair was removed. Tomato clowns didn't like the percs but really was bullied by a single small skunk clown that hosted with my anemone. I am not trying to talk you into it but if you change your mind try it research your choices very carefully. Maroons and cinnamons are notoriously agressive towards other clowns.
Wanted: to set up a tank again.

The only problem with adding fish that could be incompatible is getting them back out. My clowns are good at running behind a rock when they see a net coming
So if you like your rockwork and do not want to restack then think wisely.

Mmmm... my clowns could almost be hand caught when feeding.
I'm still working on my thought process here though. I'm going back and forth right now. Until I'm 100% certain in my own mind I will not attempt it.

Mixing Clowns
One thing to remember is that clowns tend to be more aggressive if they have an anenome host. That may be why the pink skunk dominated the false percula.

My tomato has a LTA and my maroon has a BTA. For some the reason, the maroon is not happy with her BTA and she is in a constant quest to boot the tomato out of his LTA.
The funniest part is that the maroon is 2x the size of the tomato and the tomato keeps kicking the maroon's butt!
Go figure!
