I was in aquaworks and got talking to dave. It looks as if him and Tim are going their own ways. He mentioned the split date of March. I don't know how long or where Tim is going to open a new store. That will make it 5 stores in the Pensacola area.

And there is only one that is even half way decent to serve the entire Mobile area. That is really sad. Keep us updated because I think a lot of us go there regularly.

I was in there and he was packed, we had some wait to get our stuff but he was very nice about it. He was totally sold out of snails and you could tell from the cloudiness of the tanks that he was selling alot of stuff. His hands were in the water the entire time I was there. We did get some hermits and cerith snails while we were there. I picked up a nice shroom rock and a mixed polyp rock. I wanted more ricordia but is that stuff always that high ? $15 a polyp ?

Actually he had to add 20 or so gallons of water to the system today because something broke yesterday. The water was cloudy from that. I guess he had to mix up the water this morning and dump it in. I'm not sure. I'm about to cut up my ricordia and should have some soon. I have a sold orange one and the pink and purple one that they have their. They had a lot more stuff there last week. I don't think they got an order of coral in this week. I did purchase a pair of bangaii cardinals..

oh and he has been out of snails for over a week.

I guess it gets hard to keep stuff in stock when you and your partner at talking about splitting up the business. To keep the money coming in he is going to do fresh water as well. He said he will be losing a lot of business with the people that will follow Tim.

thats been down for a while. A lady bought everything in there and they were going to start from scratch but now they are going to wait until they figure out what they are going to split between the two of them.

Hrm.. I hate to hear this. I knew 'something' was going on , but didn't know what it was. That is our favorite reef store. That is the only place that when they ring me out, they will actually undercharge me instead of trying to rip me by adding a few bucks here and there. I hope it works out, I'm gonna sorely miss it if it doesn't.

which ones Tim and which ones Dave? Who's keeping aquaworks open?
anyone know who the lady that bought out the display is? I always wanted some of those yellow on green zoos in there.

Yeah, I don't much care for Tim. He was kinda an ass every time I have been there. Think I might be following Dave. I think Dave is a much better customer sales person than Tim. Best of luck to both though.

I thought Tim was the older fellow. I am with Shawn on this one. I talked to him the last time I was there for a long time with my son trying to put his hands in the water and running wild. He was a very nice person.

Tim is the younger one. I feel that he is more knowledgable about the stuff he is selling. Dave will be keeping the store where aquaworks is but I'm not sure if he will keep the name or what. He just said they were splitting up and not much more. He will bring in some fresh water tanks to get his customer base up. Dave has calmed down since i started going there. He used to get on my nerves by telling me every single thing he got it. I perfer to look myself. It will be interesting to see what pans out. I have a feeling that time will continue to get more acros and more exotic coral while Dave will stick with the easier things. When I find out more I'll let you all know. I doubt Tim will have a place up and running in march but i could be wrong. He could probably have a place picked out.
Reefscapes is doing a little remodeling and their place is starting to look better. They have had some nice coral in in the past few weeks. They typically have a better fish selection also. I stop there often since it is only about a min from my house. They had the coolest knobby star fish last week. I wish i would have had a fish only tank.
harbingerofthefish - I have some of those zoos.. I got the last two that they had in one of their tanks. Dave told me that they are fast growers and i'm up to about 8 or so polyps in just over a month i guess. I'll eventually frag them.

I always thought Tim was pretty cool. he would always let me just wander. I think he knows I have small tank and scavenge for loose things on the sand. So I'm not going to shell out $50 everytime I go in there.
Dave always tries to sell me one of those yellow cucs. He has that hard ass/I don't care wishy washy sort of sales approach. kinda funny.
fishfood....now that the tnak has finally come in, if I can ever get up there to get it, let me know when a couple of polyps to spare

I'm the same way. every time i go to a store i look for things floating around the tank. I refuse to pay for a full colony of something when I know i can grow it out in my tank. Some things you have to buy as a whole piece but most of the stuff you can get as a frag. I go to both reefscapes and aquaworks weekly and just look for like 45 min and then walk out. They have stopped talking to me knowing i wasn't always going to buy something and if i want something i'll ask. Just check out my gallary and i'll frag it when i can. I only have small clumps of polyps right now.
