If I had $50 it would be worth it for a ~2.5 inch piece. I wonder if you could retain that color for very long.

Dunno...would be worth a shot for $50 though. My issue is I have some small bleach spots on 3 corals and I am alittle gun shy about adding anyhting that is 150 bucks to my tank just now.

Moreso since it is a wild colony. And the fact that cerealis usually turn brown.

your getting the idea now....buy two pieces .... one each then split and share. end up with two corals for the price of one. If I had not just got some in today I would go in with you...

Shoot you can just go to B & B and get one off the shelf and paint it the colors you want it and then you wont have to worry about it bleaching or gettting RTN

You have to swap it out for a bigger one every now and then to simulate growth. You could also paint it white and tell people yout $150 coral bleached.

How exactly would you go about splitting up a colony like the polystoma or the secale? I might be interested soon, but not quite yet.
