What's your turnover?

How many times per hour does your tank turn over? (Add up all power heads, approximate return from sump, HOB filters, whatever you have that causes water flow in and divide by your tank capacity)

My 55 gallon has 2 Maxijet 1200's (295gph each), two other powerheads (approx 200 gph), and the output from the skimmer (approx 150 gph)=940 gph on a 55 gallon tank so my tank turns over about 17 times an hour.

Mine's nearly the same as yours 2 MJ12's, 2 rios , skimmer, refuge
somewhere around 23/hr or so..

I've considered dumping all of them and just getting 2 seaswirls on a closed loop.. seems to be the most popular way to run a SPS tank ( no linear flow and massive amounts of turnover ).
Just can't seem to dig up the $100's of dollars for 'em over a $17 MJ12.

Who knows i might invest in a wavemaker eventually. would hate to just throw away all the powerheads. Anyone have any experience with 'em?

I have a Red Sea Wavemaster pro (or something like that). I am debating on using it on the new tank. I am going to have a Mag 12 for return and a Gen x Mak 5 on a closed loop on my 100 gallon (about 27x turnover). I thought about using the wavemaker with 3 Maxijets on the wavemaker to vary my currents some (about 36x turnover), but may try it without first.

I have two mag24's running about 70% with some head pressure, on a 240G, figure about 10x for me.

I have roughly 25 times turn over. Would like to add more but I'm not sure where to do that. I did't include my prizm skimmer and don't know the turn over with that but might be upgrading to a remora pro shortly. If i get one with the mag 3 upgrade i should be at roughly 31 times an hour.

I am at approximately 4000 gph +/- 300 gph on a 280 gallon tank and a 1/3 filled 75 g sump. This is just my main return (Blueline HD 100) and a Tunze Stream 6000.

Same as shagman on returns and tank except I also have two douphin dp800 hooked up to my octopus 3000 for a wavemaker with one running 8min and the other 6min both on and off which means sometimes both are running sometimes just one and other times none. They are mounted on the end of the tank by the wall one on each side shooting down the length of the tank.

10-11 Times, 1290gph from Little Giant 4...(somethingsomething #'s) for a return from the sump, and two smaller power heads for my sps's.

I have two ampmaster 3000's and a dolphin 12oo running a sea swirl. Total gph = 7200 divided by tank volume (500 gallons) = 14.4 x turnover. My next major purchase is gonna be some Tunze Turbelle thingy's ......then WATCH OUT!
