I'm interested. I'm just trying to decide if my tank is ready yet.. A lack of any algae has me worried it isn't ready but I've already got snails and caulpera in there.

How long has it been setup?

Its been "setup" two weeks, but the sand is from my larger tank I've had setup for 2 years as well as the rock. I've not had any cycle and threw in a small piece of shrimp and got nothing so I added my snails and algae and everything is fine so far. Its been a week since I added my livestock.

I've moved my tanks a large number of times, I think like 30+ tank moves if you count them all. I've always used the same sand and liverock and had minimal or no cycle, depending how long it was broken down. Big cycles are really only going to happen with new tanks that have dead (lol) liverock that's been basting in a disgusting dirty liverock bin at the LFS for months on end.

Where are you located? If you're close, maybe I could hook you up with a free/cheap frag, and we could see how it does, before buying anything?

That would be great! I am in Fairhope, but I can meet up with you where ever. Friday-Sunday are best for me.
