I've got some small green balls growing in my tank. They're dark green in color and when unrestricted by the rocks they grow into a perfect ball. Does anyone know what it might be. I just recently removed about 4000 of them from my tank. They're not bad looking but they really took over.

I looked it up on about.com and found a picture. It looks like Ventricaria ventricosa. It says that emerald green crabs will eat this stuff. I found one on marine depot. it cost $7 for the crab and $35 to ship it.

My trouble is the distance I have to travel. By town I assume you're speaking of Mobile. What are the stores that handle marine animals in Mobile? I come to Mobile on other business once or twice a year. If I give one of the stores some notice they may be able to reserve me a couple of crabs.
