I have found a few purple bubbles (I assume some type of algae) in my tank. They are the size of a pea, and have some orange specks on them.

I hope this attachment works. I've looked on-line and haven't found them anywhere. Any suggestions?

One of a few possible Botryocladia species. More than likely B. skottsbergii. It is commonly referred to as "red bubble algae." If nutrient levels are high, it can be hard to control and will grow quickly. Otherwise, it is relatively harmless. It is best removed maually by scraping it's thallus ("base") from the rock and siphoning all of the material around it to minimize spores being released.
