Microbubbles

Post by reefman8471 »

Do you know where the microbubbles are originating from? What type of protein skimmer do you have? So create microbubbles when the water drains from the skimmer. Do you have a sump? If so and there is a fair amount of turbulence in the sump your return pump tends to suck in bubbles and chop them up into microbubbles. Also check your plumbing seals for any air that may be getting in if the seals are not tight.

Do you still have any hair algae. If so the best way to get rid of it is take the rocks out and scrub them is salt water.

sounds to me like green slime, fun stuff im having a massive outbreak myself. Water changes tend to help and phosban is some great stuff as well if you can afford it, me, I've been using a soft brush toothbrush to combat it when I can to save my corals until I can afford better methods.

Green Slime

Also make sure you maximize your water flow. It tends to grow better in dead spots.
