Calcium Chloride

Does anyone know of an alternative source of calcium chloride to the standard aquarium offerings of Turbo Calcium et al....

Dowflake, you can get it from pool supply places in 50lb bags.
I assume you were looking for just a different brand, possibly in bulk?

About the same as 1KG of the "aquarium" stuff.
I guess around 15-20 dollars. Here is a link with some links to online retailers if you want to look. It's a good article on Randy's two/three part mixes. Other links as well for the Magnesium and Buffer parts.

I paid $15 and change for a 50lb bag of dowflake from Pensacola Pools. You have to ask for it as they keep it in the back, or at least the one in Pace does.

Hey James: They carry it at Lowe's and Home Depot (the ones on Schillinger and on Rangeline) and at Pioneer Pools on Cottage Hill, past Schillinger (past the Winn-Dixie). It is a bit more expensive at Pioneer, though.

Oh, one more note on that--the dowflake is hydrated calcium chloride (CaCl2-2H2O), so you will need a pretty good bit more per dose to achieve the same effect as anhydrous. That isn't too bad, though, considering the bulk amounts you get per time.
