I just got a hippo tang 3days ago. he looked great & was eating. however, when i put him in the tank he went to the back & stays there. the only time i see him is when he pokes his head out from his hiding place. is there anything i can do to get him to come out? i am afraid he wont eat & will starve to death.
thanks,
russ

Hmm, not uncommon for this species. Unless he is emaciated, it will take much longer than that for it to starve. Try feeding the tank and standing at a good distance to observe its behavior. Most shy species will feed when you aren't looking at them up close.

he's not emaciated, but when i do feed the tank, he makes no move to eat. is this normal for them within the first few days?
