I noticed some small white bugs (like little ants) on my glass down close to my sand bed. Is this good or bad? What is it? A parasite or what?

Sounds like copapods to me. They represent a healthy tank and are a good thing.

Most likely a species of copepod or amphipod, as a guess without a pic.

This is a pretty good guide to help you identify those odd things that come from live rocks:

What fish do you have? I used to see some in my sump but once I added the dottybacks I never see them in the tank.

A clown and blue-green chromis. I did have a yellow-head gobie, blue and yellow tang.

No fish to eat them. When I had them in the sump I had 6 dottybacks, two neons, two orchids and two springers. It is good that they are there. It shows that the tank is doing good.
