Prayers needed...

Okay, it may seem lame but I am a really sad person today. My baby had to go to the vet yesterday for Vomiting/Diarrhea. I just thought her little butt had gotten into something, but she has Parvo-
Vet is floored since she has finished her shots, but she isn't doing good. So those of you dog lovers I would appreciate any and all prayers you can offer.

There's nothing lame about caring.

Is your vet giving her fluids and electrolites? If he can keep her from dehydration she'll have a much better chance. I've had a couple of friends who've brought their dogs thru parvo, but it's intense.
We'll be wishing for the best for all of the family, and hoping she makes it thru. Keep thinking positive thoughts,
Sue

I'll keep your baby in my prayers. I am a big dog lover. What kind of dog do you have? I have 2 German Shepherds and plan on buying a protection trained shepherd next year. We are planning on breeding them next year. I can't wait for them to have puppies! Keep us posted on how you're baby is doing.

I had a German Shepard about 15 years ago that got Parvo when she was still a pup. At the time I didn't have the money to allow the vet to take care of her but gatorade and time pulled her through. I have heard that larger breeds are hardier when it comes to Parvo. Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

Well here is the story... Dr Dave said today she has some kind of immune deficiency called it Paralytic Immune Syndrome. She isn't fighting the parvo and from what I got out of him was that if she did get better that unless her immune system started working right she could catch it again. Her white count and her platelets are really low right now and she was really behind with her fluids when I took her in. He said she looked a little better today she was holding her head up.

Poor thing, it's rough on them. If you can get them thru the initial illness, there are some things you can do to boost their immune system and if she's young her immune system might just kick in.
Is he going to give her some days of fluids and antibiotics to see how she does?

They called later last PM. She has blood in her urine. They are going to start testing organs this morning- they seem to think she is going into organ failure.
