my family is loving the xenia ive added to the tank and im looking for some variety. ive read of some blue\greens\ and whites that are out there but have also read they are notoriously poor shippers. does anyone have any of these varieties theyd be willing to frag out? im partial to the colorful ricordias so im looking for those as well. thanks in advance!

I have only heard of two species in this area. The first one is refered to as Red Sea Xenia and is pinkish white, the other is Xenia elongata. It is brown and the polyp stalks can be very long. I have the fist kind but ever since I added the new skimmer it hasn't been growing very fast. Recently, I have seen a few that are blue. They supposedly originate from Africa and are rarely imported. They are also quite expensive.

Which variety do you have now?

must be the red sea variety. however, mine seem to be a little more purple than pink. may be the lights though. i'll be travelling some soon, maybe i will be able to pick some up elsewhere if i cant find any around here.

Scott there is a non-pulsing white variety also I believe. I either saw it in a book or at Progressive. The stalks where really small too.

I think that is the Pom pom, but I haven't seen any that didn't look just like the Red Sea.

I am trying to get $10 a polyp for them (mainly trying to get the money I spent on them) I still have plenty of them on this rock if you are interested in the whole rock we might could work out something.
